Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance and Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in packaging or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries, with extensive experience in managing large maintenance teams and driving process improvement initiatives. The candidate should have a proven track record in implementing Lean methodologies, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and reliability engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the maintenance department, including equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and reduce overall maintenance costs.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of maintenance supervisors and technicians, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the department.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Utilize Lean principles and TPM methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, improve workflow, and enhance equipment performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to support production goals and resolve technical issues.
- Establish and maintain maintenance KPIs to monitor department performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability.
- Implement reliability engineering practices to analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and develop long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in maintenance and engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork within the maintenance department, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
- Proven experience managing a maintenance department with over 75 employees.
- Strong background in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated experience in reliability engineering, including root cause analysis and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Results-oriented mindset with a track record of driving operational excellence and achieving performance targets.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) preferred.
