Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Superintendent with a background in manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance activities during assigned shifts. While a 4-year degree is not required, relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Shift Management:
Assume responsibility for the overall maintenance operations during assigned shifts.
Coordinate and supervise maintenance staff to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
Reporting and Communication:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager, providing regular updates on shift activities, challenges, and accomplishments.
Collaborate with other departments to communicate maintenance-related information and address any cross-functional issues.
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
Troubleshooting:
Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to address and rectify issues affecting manufacturing processes.
Resource Management:
Manage resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet maintenance objectives.
Optimize staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage during all shifts.
Training and Development:
Facilitate training programs for maintenance staff to enhance skills and knowledge.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and safety within the maintenance team.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Collaborate with the safety and compliance teams to address any concerns and implement corrective actions.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inspection reports.
Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Job Requirements
- Prior experience in a maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software and systems.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required.
