Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Type: Full-time, Day Shift
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Position Overview: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of 30 or more maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure the efficient operation of machinery and facilities.
- Perform routine inspections to identify and address maintenance needs, including repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance tasks to minimize disruptions to production processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop and implement maintenance strategies, programs, and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Train and mentor maintenance technicians in best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to coordinate maintenance efforts and address production needs.
- Order, receive, and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
- Participate in the recruitment and on boarding of maintenance team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the maintenance team.
Job Requirements
- A degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior manufacturing experience required.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team of 15 or more employees.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to a safe work environment.
- Proficiency in using computer software for maintenance management is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies as needed.
