Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Description:

Position Overview: The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the operational aspects of a food manufacturing plant. This position requires a 4-year degree and previous experience in the industry. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing 3 departmental managers and a workforce of approximately 200 employees. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Team Leadership:

Provide effective leadership to three departmental managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Oversee a diverse workforce of around 200 employees, ensuring productivity, morale, and adherence to company policies.

Operational Efficiency:

Collaborate with departmental managers to optimize operational processes and workflows.

Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.

Quality Control:

Work closely with quality assurance teams to uphold and improve product quality standards.

Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the production process.

Resource Management:

Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.

Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability of raw materials.

Performance Metrics:

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of operational processes.

Implement data-driven decision-making to address areas of improvement and ensure targets are met.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and other applicable laws.

Work closely with regulatory bodies to maintain a thorough understanding of evolving requirements.

Budget Management:

Collaborate with finance and budgeting teams to develop and manage the operational budget effectively.

Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

Communication:

Maintain effective communication channels with departmental managers, plant staff, and other relevant stakeholders.

Report regularly to the Plant Manager, providing updates on operational performance and key initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education: A 4-year degree is required, preferably in a relevant field such as business, operations management, or engineering.

Experience: Prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing is essential, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of industry-specific processes.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing data to make informed decisions.

Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
