Job Description

$120,000 - $155,000 + 10% bonus

This job description outlines the key responsibilities and qualifications for the Maintenance and Engineering Manager position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes while contributing to the overall success of the plant.

 

  • Team Leadership:

Lead and manage both the maintenance and engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the teams.

  • Maintenance Oversight:

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.

Coordinate with maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly.

Manage spare parts inventory to support maintenance activities.

  • Engineering Management:

Oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance production efficiency.

  • Budget and Resource Management:

Develop and manage budgets for both maintenance and engineering departments.

Optimize resource allocation to meet operational needs and cost objectives.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Keep abreast of changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

 

  • Collaboration:

Work closely with the Plant Manager to align maintenance and engineering activities with overall plant goals and objectives.

Collaborate with other department heads to address cross-functional challenges and achieve operational excellence.

  • Continuous Improvement:

Implement and champion continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance and engineering teams.

Identify and implement best practices to enhance overall operational efficiency.

  • Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of maintenance and engineering activities.

Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and engineering processes, procedures, and projects.

  • Training and Development:

Identify training needs and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

Foster a learning environment to enhance the skill set and knowledge of the maintenance and engineering teams.

  • Communication:

Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing updates on project statuses, resource requirements, and potential challenges.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Prior experience in consumer packaging, pharmaceutical, or food/beverage manufacturing industries.
