$130,000 - $155,000 + bonus

Job Title: Plant Manager

Job Summary:

As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of a manufacturing plant with approximately 350 employees. This role involves overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and personnel management. You will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and you will lead a team of 4-6 direct reports to ensure the plant's performance aligns with company goals and objectives. 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4-6 direct reports in various functional areas.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the plant.

Plant Operations:

  • Ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation of the plant, meeting production targets and quality standards.
  • Oversee inventory management, production scheduling, and resource allocation.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring that all safety regulations and protocols are followed.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and monitor quality control processes to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.

Maintenance and Asset Management:

  • Manage plant maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance programs and equipment repairs.
  • Optimize the use of plant assets to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.

Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the plant budget, controlling costs and expenses while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Employee Development:

  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of plant staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to employees.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with the Vice President of Operations and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Operations Management) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Proficiency in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Results-oriented and driven to achieve plant and company objectives.
