The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of food products in compliance with USDA regulations and standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of production, including processing, packaging, labeling, and shipping.
- Manage a team of production supervisors and workers, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure that all production goals are met.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to ensure that orders are fulfilled on time and in full.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control, logistics, and maintenance, to ensure that all aspects of the production process are functioning efficiently.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to prevent breakdowns or production delays.
- Monitor and control production costs to meet budgetary goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure that all production areas are clean and sanitary, and that all workers adhere to food safety protocols.
This position requires management experience in a food production environment, with a preference for candidates with a four-year degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a food production environment.
- Experience working with USDA regulations and standards required.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business Management or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food production processes, equipment, and technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
