$90,000 - $115,000 + 15%

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Manager. The Safety Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our manufacturing operations. This position requires a candidate with a strong background in safety management, preferably with a 4-year degree in a related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant safety management experience in a manufacturing setting. The Safety Manager will lead a team of safety professionals and report directly to the Plant Manager.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Safety Leadership: Lead and oversee all aspects of safety management within the manufacturing plant. Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of safety professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring. Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement within the safety team.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, standards, and guidelines. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and proactively implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses across the manufacturing operations. Develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards and minimize risks to employees and the facility.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate employees and contractors about proper safety procedures, emergency protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Incident Management: Lead investigations into workplace accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents. Identify root causes and develop corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain emergency response plans. Ensure that all employees are well-informed about emergency procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in safety procedures, equipment, and protocols. Drive initiatives to enhance overall safety performance.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with employees, supervisors, and upper management regarding safety initiatives, concerns, and progress. Prepare and deliver reports to the Plant Manager as required.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data and metrics to track safety performance and trends. Generate regular reports to monitor progress and communicate safety performance to relevant stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in safety management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
  • Prior experience in leading and developing a safety team.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) are a plus.
